Art for Change
Plastic pollution is having a negative impact on our oceans and wildlife health. This magnificent environment is under serious threat from human intervention, with plastics set to outnumber fish by 2050.
Plastics take 500-1000 years to degrade & this contributes to the rising number of low Biochemical Oxygen Demands in hypoxic areas known as DEAD ZONES, where most marine life cannot survive, resulting in irreparable damage & even collapse/decay of the ocean’s self-healing & self-nurturing ecosystem.
This persistent waste will be there longer than we can live!
Fadhili an artist from Kilifi, Kenya is leading a new wave of young activists who clean the Kenyan coast & educate the community of the dangers of pollution through art & action. Watch his song ‘Sitaki Taka Taka’ (I don’t want littering) here -> https://youtu.be/jrRXFpEaVU4
