Gender-based violence is often too frequent in the slum, with the figures becoming much higher among young couples. In today’s article, we look into Gender-based Violence in the slum and its root causes.

Shining Hope for Communities is a grassroots movement based in Nairobi, Kenya in urban slums providing services, community advocacy platforms, and education and leadership development for women and girls. SHOFCO serves more than 350,000 urban slum dwellers in 10 slums across three cities in Kenya.
