No mans land – African Slum Journal

Margaret, 85 yrs old, was one of the first to settle in Mukuru slums, Nairobi and lives there for almost fifty years. ‘There was a forest when we came here. We were farming. We were allocated land to build a house without title deeds’. Today it has grown into this big slum Mukuru. There has been a court order to evict residents from Mukuru as it is set to be demolished.
